50,000 Americans will be diagnosed this year with oral cancer
According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, nearly 50,000 Americans will be diagnosed this year with oral cancer. Half of those will not survive more than 5 years after their diagnosis. In our office alone we’ve had multiple cases in recent years. So now it’s time to take a stand against oral cancer. Early detection is critical to treatment. New technology and techniques are here to help us save lives.
New Oral Screening Technologies Without X-Rays
What will be different now? In addition to the basic oral cancer screening we have done in the past, we are now using fluorescent light technology to help identify areas of concern. It is pain– free, tasteless and does not use x–rays. Some dental insurance plans help with the expense of using this technology, however some also do not. We want to make this technology accessible to everyone. To defray the expense of this technology, it will cost you no more than $25/year.
